Using a tutorial from Nathan Chojnacki, which you can find here, I dove headfirst into Adobe's After Effects for the first time. Despite the runtime only being 30 minutes, this process took hours, as I was constantly rewinding parts over and over again, trying to reinforce the concepts into my brain. I also decided to use my own font for the text, just to give the short clip a little bit of my branding, so to speak.
Overall, I'd say that I'm quite proud of how it turned out, despite the basic nature of the video. The most challenging thing was definitely was un-learning all of photoshop's hotkeys. I kept pressing "control + T" expecting it to allow me to change the shape, but all that does in After Effects is bring out the text tool. I bet with some more usable I'll slide out of these habits.
